We bought it to be able to talk with and see our son (in China) using Skype. Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000Great value. The MS LifeCam VX-1000 doesn't claim to do much but it does everything that it claims to. The resolution isn't great but neither is it bad. The microphone works fine, too.
This is the best among all the products I have used within this price range. Great quality in both video and audio output.
It keeps me in touch with friends around the world. I study German online with Livemocha.com, and I thought I could use the microphone to record oral exercises but, alas, I cannot.
Very easily installed, very easy to use. I love this little camera.
:)Only one futher complaint, and that is that the microphone can't be used separately. I use mine with Skype, no problems at all.
Like some other users, I am annoyed by the stupid button on top, because I never use Windows Live Messenger and yet if you accidentally press the button while adjusting the camera the window automatically pops up - but no big deal, I just close the Messenger window and life goes on. All in all, though, for the price of this little guy I'd definitely buy it again.

I've never used a webcam before, had no idea what to look for so I decided to try this one as the price was right and the reviews positive. I'm satisfied and would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a reasonable, easy to install, simple to use webcam with decent picture.
